In a statement, Federal Way Public Schools (FWPS) explained that when a student passes away before graduation, the school district works with the family to honor their accomplishments towards a diploma. This year, FWPS will be awarding Cameron a posthumous diploma, a testament to his hard work and dedication in the classroom.

Cameron's mother, Rochelle Wilson, is planning to attend the graduation ceremony to support his friends and accept his diploma on behalf of her son. She remembers Cameron as a bright and ambitious young man who had big plans for his future. He was an excellent student who excelled in computer science and planned to attend Seattle University this fall.

'His murder has left us all feeling lost and broken,' Rochelle said, adding that it's hard for the family to come to terms with their loss. 'But we're trying to hold on to the memories of his bright future and the impact he had on those around him.'
